Run by Karen and Chris Johns, Melvill House has been transformed into comfortable accommodation with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Open all year-round, it comprises of double, twin and family rooms, all of which are en suite.

A comfortable sitting room is there to enjoy a cup of tea, coffee, or use books and games, consult guides and brochures about the area.

Melvill House is situated about 200 yards from a beautiful sandy beach and a short walk from the harbour, waterfront shops, pubs and restaurants. Also nearby there is:
- Pendennis Castle
- National Maritime Museum Cornwall (a 5 minute walk from the house).
- Plays at the Minack open air theatre.
- Truro City, with its magnificent cathedral, is just a 20 minute drive.
- Local gardens at Trelissick, Glendurgan and Trebah.
- Falmouth is a good base to explore Cornwall's Roseland and Lizard peninsulas.

Further afield: The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are both within an hour's drive.
